in need of long hollow claws

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 9:55 PM
i have a customer who wants claws for her dragon to be similar to qarrezel/s kreeker http://qarrezel.deviantart.com/art/The-Kreeker-84019273 i would contact her about it except she is closed even for small commissions.

she wants them like that but to come down to the middle bend in the finger so she still has some dexterity.
i do not think clay would work so well with being hollow and they would be used for dexterity VS a claw and thus get more abuse, and apoxy is fumey and fussy and i generally hate the stuff. i have been looking online all day in hopes of finding like a pointy plastic xmas ornament or some premade halloween claws to try and use but with no luck, hell i even tried looking for plastic carrots!

they do not have to even be curved, i basically need some cones that are 2-3 inches long and like close to an inch (but no bigger than an inch) wide at the base. in white is possible, silver or blue would be an acceptable alternative so if the paint chips it at least matches the rest of the suit.

if no one has any ideas of some pre-made item i could cut and use then is anyone able to make me some? i can make some foamie mock ups of the size and shape i need and mail it.  i have NO IDEA how to cast plastic or anthing of the sort

YouTube - Foxy Bingo Compilation

  • Mar. 12th, 2010 at 12:45 AM
Saw this AWESOME "compilation" of some "Foxy Bingo" TV ADs. Its some Joe in a fox fursuit, with clothes, moving jaw, etc.
There seems to be some sort of animitronics for the ears and eyes... I'm curious as to how they got it all to fit inside that head.
That, and how said Joe was to SEE out of it...

As for the vid, its about 7:00 long, so, enjoy!

Hello again! I was wondering who sells those LED claws. I'm looking for a quote right now and might be looking to buy, but would like to know a few things about them first such as; pricing, if they have a power source hooked up already, and if you sell them by claw or in bundles...

Thanks!

FurDU Conbook Artwork

  • Mar. 12th, 2010 at 12:58 PM

I'm pleased to announce our Convention Book cover art is finished.

The artist Wookiee was kind enough to illustrate a dingo enjoying a day in the surf.

Wookiee was unable to colour the piece due to work restrictions, so I myself coloured the line art and added the background.
It was an honor for me to do a collaboration with Wookiee and I hope you are all as pleased with it as I am.

So a huge thankyou to Wookiee for offering his time and showing his support for Furry Down Under.

To view the piece in full, please visit http://www.furaffinity.net/full/3546582/

..................................................................................................

Also, we are still looking for submission for the convention book, story or digital line art is preferred. We are also keen for any advertisements for business or commissions.

Looking for Premade white feet paws!

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 8:06 PM
Hello! I'm looking for a pair of white hard soled feet paws, preferably in the $60 range, but I can go higher or lower. New, used, I'm not picky as long as they're good for outdoor use (pictures would be wonderful)

I can pay asap, but the catch is, I need delivered by the end of the month, I'll, of course pay for shipping! I'm not looking to commission these, because time is an issue, but if you could wip 'em out, then I'll defiantly consider!

Character's Mouth/Performer's Mouth

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 3:52 PM
I've searched through the memories on both balaclavas and mouths and haven't found the answer to this question, so hopefully this isn't a repeat question.

I'm a little confused about the area that is the back of the character's mouth/in front of the performer's mouth. How do you treat this area? Fabric? Nothing? The balaclava that I ordered does not have a hole over the mouth. Will this be a problem or beneficial?

In an attempt to clarify where I'm talking about, here is a paint diagram. Please forgive the cro-magnum forehead.

Thanks!

Dog things.

Turbo's a good dog. I just got done grooming him since he has an appointment at a new vet tomorrow for his regular shots and I want him to look his best.

He got his toenails clipped & filed, his teeth brushed and the little tufts around his paw pads trimmed. He looks so good! I even trimmed some of his broken whiskers.

He's sitting on my feet now and rolling his head back to look at me upside down right now, and its one of the cutest behaviors he does. This dog is the best.

Hello : 3

(hopefully this type of introduction post is ok ^.^;;;;;)

I've been making prosthetic tails for a while now, some of you may have already seen some of my work, a friend of mine told me it was posted here a while ago. Allow me to do a more personal version : P

this is my latest version i made for a customer

I'm currently working on my own tail now and will have it be even better.

I'll prolly have pics up soon.

I also have made custom ears before, and am working on a brand new set using 3 inch white fur i've had laying around, they came out fantastic, only problem is i dont have anything to attach them to : P

Space bags and fursuits

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 11:44 AM
I am interested in the fuctionality of a Space bag (https://www.spacebag.com/) for storage and travel. Anyone use a Space bag to store their suits? Does the fur maintain it's apperance or does wrinking occur?

A Space bag would also be great for travel, a suit would take up a lot less space in a suitcase that way. However once you are returning home, how could you vacuum your bag back up again? Borrow a vacuum from hotel housekeeping? Or maybe a small suction pump you could bring with you. Ideas?

Fox Fullsuit--Relisted

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 10:22 AM
I am re-listing this fox fullsuit. It looks like the previous auction fell victim to shill/fraudulent bidding.

There were several interested parties who contacted me, so to be fair to everyone I am opening bidding back up for 2 days. Starting bid is still the same and there is no reserve.

Good luck everyone. Hopefully this suit can find a home at a price that reflects its correct value.

I'm not sure if this should be posted here - if not, let me know. I'm not really sure where to put it, honestly.

I was tagging along with my mom on some errands in hope of some food and she had to get some curtain material, so we went to this little fabric shop in the middle of nowhere. They had these two huge cardboard boxes full of faux fur - I don't know much about quality, but it seemed to me that some of it seemed pretty good, and others...well, not so good. But it was $8 a pound. (Weird way to price, I know.) Now, it seems to me that this would be cheaper than most faux fur I've seen in the big crafts stores.

I took some pictures of the fur that I thought looked the best, a short pile brown. I was just curious - does anyone want this? If not, I may end up going back and buying a few of the furs just to have on hand anyways, but...well, I'm not exactly the most artistic person, haha.

Sorry for the lousy picture quality, it was just snapped with the camera phone.

Happy Birthday!

Koda husky for sale once more

  • Mar. 11th, 2010 at 12:58 AM
Thanks to some amazing moderators at FurBuy I feel safe to post this once more up for bid. Story was the first buyer was a scam, the second buyer was a dud, and the third never responded. So Koda is now back up for bid!

Koda is a playful husky pup looking for a good home. He is brand new, never been worn except for photos. He comes from a hypo allergenic home, smoke free environment. A video is linked to the auction:  http://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1015393.html

I can ship him out as soon as I receive payment. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.^^ Thank you for looking!

I'm looking to practice my line quality, and I am looking for a nice brush pen or something that I can use to get that amazing line quality you see in many people's cartoon drawings. I'm getting tired of mimicing it by going over my lines multiple times, I want to practice doing line quality in one shot with a nice pen.

Any recommendations for any specific brands or models? Perhaps links, if possible. I'm looking for something I can erase over top of that won't lose pigment, and won't run when wet. I don't mind actually spending real dollars on a good one that will last.

I found I'm just lazy when it comes to using an actual brush & ink. I like it, but I like the simplicity and portability of it being all in one.

New! + QuikSteel?

  • Mar. 10th, 2010 at 8:31 PM
Hello! I'm new to LJ AND the fursuit community!

[info]mindlessmoron and I have been lurking on here quite a while, gathering information to help us make our first fursuits. We started making our heads last year and stopped early, it just seems hard to actually have the dedication to finish it. Recently i've picked it back up again (the foam is yellow now!) and am hoping to finish these suckers. Hoping to post WIP shots for critique soon~

My question was about QUIKSTEEL Epoxy Putty. This stuff bonds to plastics and metal VERY well (i've used it before in very small-time jewelry repair), and it's very malleable before it sets. It's super strong, and would probably never break! I was just wondering if anyone has actually USED this for teeth/claws/small accessories? It's a little bit heavy, and it might have to be painted since it dries dark grey.

Thanks guys!
